Auction Payment and Shipping
Most Asian buyers (with the exception of Japan) choose to air freight their lots through a freight consolidator. The freight consolidator takes care of all of the customs liquidation paperwork and the importing work. Delivery is door to door or door to airport, depending on the buyers choice. This is very efficient method, since the auction lots arrive in less than 2 weeks, and due to the distance it is cost efficient as well.
European buyers tend to either airfreight or have their auction lots consolidated in Panama and ship through an importer in a container destined to Europe.
For the US, we try to consolidate the auction lots and ship through an importer to California, which is the most common port for importing coffee.
Unless the coffee is shipped through an importer, and the importer decides to finance the buyer, the coffee must be paid for before it leaves Panama.
Shipping is Ex Works.
Payment for the auction lots is due in full 15 days after the auction date to Hacienda La Esmeralda. Payment can be made by wire transfer to our bank account.
